RIM has announced the above product which is a version of the 8800 that will support WiFi. This is a long promised device. One interesting feature is that it does look to support UMA which is a new VOIP technology. Interestingly, it looks like the initial launch carrier of the 8820 is Cingular/ATT which is interesting since this carrier has not announced UMA support. Perhaps they are timing the launch of UMA to coincide with the launch of the 8820? I am not sure, but clearly it as an important part of the value proposition. Lets see what happens.
