Last weekend I attended an event in New Hampshire sponsored the Squam Lakes Association. It was celebrating their 100 year anniversary, and it was a blast. They had great food, a fantastic band and in general good company. We danced the night away and in general celebrated 100 years of this great organization.
What is the SLA? I am glad you asked; it is an organization that was formed to conserve the beauty of the Squam Lakes watershed in New Hampshire. Squam Lake is a gem of a lake in New Hampshire. It is right next to Winnipesaukee (sp?), and has avoided much of the over development of its larger neighbor. It still maintains the quiet peacefulness that one would want in a lake in New Hampshire. The SLA has done a great job in maintaining the lake and ensuring that it is protected for generations to come. I encourage everyone to join.
