Well, it had to happen. The Sox lost game two. No big deal, but they obviously need to do better to have a serious chance at the series. It looked like they were overpowered by Petit’s pitching. He did a great job coming up with the key outs when he needed it to and avoiding the big mistakes. It is times like this where the Sox’s vaunted batting crew needs to step up to the plate and make it happen — They didn’t. Oh well it is now back to Fenway. Go Sox!

Well I honestly cannot believe it. The Red Sox have won two straight on the A’s and are now even in the series. It is quite a miracle that they have made this comeback; being the skeptical fan that I am, I am nervous that this comeback is actually part of a nefarious plan to ensure that Boston’s heart gets broken again by the Red Sox! Don’t get me wrong, I am not suggesting a conspiracy or anything, but this could be one more example of how the Sox make it so far and then blow it at the last minute. I am keeping me fingers crossed on this. I just hope that I can watch and that do not schedule it during the day like they did last week. Who ever thought of that — Bonehead.

It is a major bummer what is happening right now with the Sox. Last night they were so close only to lose on the last minute bunt by the A’s. Ugggghhhh, it was certainly not a good omen.
Unfortunately, they looked terrible today. It is kind of typical with the Sox, they look so promising and then end up dropping the ball when it really matters.
What is it with Boston teams they cannot seem to perform consistently at the top of their games? Is it the burse of Boston sports teams or something? Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the Sox and the Patriots show an uptick in performance in the near future.
What was up with the Patriot’s this weekend. Once more, their defense was anemic. What is there supposed defensive mastermind, Bill Bellicheck doing? Basically, the defense continued from where they left off in the Chiefs game. They were completely porous and were incapable of stopping the run. What happened to the defense to the defense from the first two games? Regardless, the team has to step it up on both sides of the ball or else they have no hope of going anywhere this season.
The Patriots game today was unbelievable. It was a dichotomy. In many respects particularly relating to defense and penalties, it was one of the worst games in recent memory; however from an offensive perspective it was much better. Yet even with this less than stellar showing they still managed to pull it out in the end. It was pretty much of a miracle IMO.
The reality is that the Patriots defense sucked. They were unable to stop Priest Holmes from running and gave up a huge number of pass in key situations. This looked like a completely different team than the one we saw during the previous two games. What was going on? Why the complete ineptitude after the superlative performance in the past? I have no idea, but they need to shape up because they cannot expect to win playing so poorly against tougher teams like the Dolphins.
